Why I built this

Then one day I stood at the foot of a building, watching my friend prepare to base jump from the roof. A 50/50 chance of dying, and he was up there anyway. I asked him why. He told me:
"It's my dream."
And standing there looking up at him, I understood something I couldn't unsee: he was living his dream. I was performing my life.
I quit my job. I ended my relationship. I booked a one-way flight with no plan. Everyone thought I was crazy.
They weren't wrong that it was a leap. They were wrong that it was crazy.
What I found on the other side wasn't a perfect, polished life. It was a real one. Messy, uncertain, sometimes terrifying, and more joyful than anything I had ever known before.
